I gave 3 stars because they were quick getting me in. I had no wait time. And I was only in the ER for about 2.5hrs! Which is great! The nurse was wonderful. The CAT scan technician was fabulous! The ER seemed very clean! It was just the doctor and the fact that they couldn't find what was wrong.

Everybody was great at the emergency room until I met the doctor. I couldn't believe how he treated me. They didn't find out what was wrong. I still have pain. He asked me about some history and said "What you didn't follow up on it? What kind of person doesn't follow up??" And gave me that look where he was literally looking down on me. I didn't even get out the words when I was trying to say "My insurance...." and he was like "Ohh mhmm..."

Well... it's a hospital. At least we have one! Many places aren't so fortunate. However; not the place you'd want to go if you were dying. Or, needed treatment that required anything other than a bandaid and a lecture from weird doctors. I did have my youngest son at this hospital, and it was great considering how...low grade the hospital is. Loved my OB! She was excellent. She did my tubal ligation, also. Her and the anesthesiologist were excellent! But, they do not have the technology to handle really anything if it goes wrong. I recommend going to a hospital with a NICU if you think you're experiencing complications. So, having babies there is doable. But the emergency room? It's... I usually try to go anywhere locally but here. There's a doctor who was all "arg I was a doctor in war so suck this up!" Like...were soldiers or something. He once stuck a needle in my gums and told me if I didn't want to die not to move... which made me cry and freak out but I couldn't do anything but freak out inside because well...he said he'd kill me basically. So...yeah.

I just received my new insurance recently. I'm an over the road truck driver. So it's difficult for me to schedule a doctor visit. Let alone if I have to schedule lab appointments and all that after. And I just switched companies. It was extremely rude of him to judge me like that.

The staff here is very nice but old heating/AC units on the walls were very dirty

It saddens me that some members of our community don't see all the hard work that goes into our hospital and how hard the staff work at making their experience as pleasant as possible. For one, we are a small community and are very lucky to even have a hospital in out county where at least if someone is critical, they can be transferred or flown to a higher level hospital. More than a few counties surrounding Richland country do not have this luxury. The doctors and nurses work 12-24 hour shifts and spend a lot of time away from their families to ensure that yours are taken care of and a lot of the time they do so even though the general public do not reciprocate the respect or kindness that these medical professionals deserve. I would trust any department here with my care.

I have ALWAYS been taken care of quite well, by all nurses and doctor's on staff. I have gone through many kidney complications and I would not choose any other place or hospital to be at when dealing with the cycles and pain that occur. I can not thank the entire staff enough for ALL there work, safety and cooperation with me throughout these life changes. But, I will try to do so more and more with each future visit! I highly recommend this hospital. I had been here when I was a young boy, I have had BOTH my children born here and I have tried other surrounding hospitals throughout my life and I always return HERE for the treatment my family and I need in our lives. Thank you again and I hope those reading this highly consider the Richland county Olney Hospital in Illinois for ALL of you and your family needs.
